The 34thParallel Magazine was launched as a platform for new and emerging writers and artists in August 2007 by Tracey Boone Swan in Irvine, California, and Martin Chipperfield in Adelaide, South Australia, both working on the 34th parallel north and south.

The magazine is published in print and digital PDF format on MagCloud, San Francisco, and in an email and online format on Substack, San Francisco.

The magazine website is hosted by Inmotion, Los Angeles,  submissions are run by Submittable, Missoula, Montana, and the magazine is archived on the research database of EBSCO Information Services, Ipswich, Massachusetts.
