Maybe it’s raining inside his head.

SAM METRO’S WEATHER BY LAURA ROBERTS 34THPARALLEL MAGAZINE ISSUE 16

Metro’s been predicting rain 16 days in a row, although there hasn’t been a cloud in sight for at least the past 12. I’m starting to question his meteorological authority, but nevertheless I faithfully carry my umbrella to work every day in anticipation.

VENUS DANCING BY OONAGH C DOHERTY 34THPARALLEL MAGAZINE ISSUE 16

My husband and I love each other. I don’t think he will ever leave me. Nor will he ever look at me with joyous desire—he doesn’t believe in it. Marriage is a contract to him, and he does his part. I am grateful for that. We work, we pay bills.

The balloons, where’d you get the balloons?

CLOWN OF DEATH BY WILLIAM E BURLESON 34THPARALLEL MAGAZINE ISSUE 16

Funny story. Got them from this guy on the way here. He gave them to me. I offered to pay, but he handed them to me and walked away. Man, there sure are some freaks in this town.

Shouldn’t we at least get a dining table?

THE DINING TABLE BY RANJAN ADIGA 34THPARALLEL MAGAZINE ISSUE 16
